Planetary Society

If you’re a space nerd like me, check out The Planetary Society

“If we back off from the enterprise of the planets,
we will be losing on many different levels.”
-Carl Sagan

  • Est. 1980 by  Carl Sagan, Bruce Murray, and Louis D. Friedman
  • Over 40,000 members in more than 100 countries
  • Largest non-profit space advocacy group on the planet

“Our mission:
Empower the world’s citizens to advance space science and exploration.”

Personally, I want to see space exploration advance as far as it can in my lifetime.
I want to see people walk on Mars!
I want to see asteroids mined for abundant natural resources!
I want to see what’s swimming in the oceans of Europa!
It’s impossible NOT to use exclamation marks when discussing these topics!
Some day, I want to buy a ticket for a trip around the moon (and I want it reasonably priced!)

Did I mention that the current CEO of The Planetary Society
is Bill Nye the Science Guy?

You can hear what this guy has to say about space exploration
in his open letter to President Obama.

I’ve been a member of The Planetary Society since 2009. Why?
Simply put, I want to be a part of the discoveries of tomorrow.
